Today we're going to talk about the League of Legends World Championship. Come with us and check which the qualified teams are for the Worlds 2020.
The Worlds are scheduled between September 25th and October 31st in Xangai, China. Throughout the last few weeks we had the results of the teams that will compete on the tournament after the end of the regional competitions. Until today, there are 22 organizations and 11 different tournaments disputed.
Before the Worlds happen, there will be a Play-in phase, where 10 teams are going to play, including the champions of some regions. In this phase these teams are going to be divided by two groups, where they are going to play against each other. After this, the best teams placed are going to Group Phase and the worst placed are eliminated. The third and the fourth placed will have to dispute each other, in a form of Bo5, where the winner guarantees their place in the tournament.
Moving forward to the Worlds itself, we’ll have 16 teams that will be separated into four groups. Here the things start to normalize. Within the groups we’ll have several games among the teams where the two best teams of each group will qualify to move on in the tournament.
